April Wrap Up

 Happy May!

I can't believe we're already at May. We've already hit 80 degrees Fahrenheit here in Northern Colorado followed by several days of rain and 50 degrees weather. Gotta love it! I am happy with all the rain we've gotten lately (and on the forecast), but that's my favorite type of weather.

Anyway, time to wrap up April's books. I feel like I read a lot less. I got a horrible sinus infection that drained into my ears early in the month and that curbed my reading for about a week. I also had my first DNF and just feel upon reflection I didn't read as much. My numbers don't necessarily reflect that though, so who knows. Maybe because I did a couple binges of the same author? This month was historical romance heavy, mostly because I was wanting comfort reads. Things will change up a little more this month with a paranormal readathon later in the month. Keep your eyes peeled for my tbr that I'm planning on posting around the 15th.

Like always books are listed in in order read. As I've had one DNF, the stats will be slightly adjusted where I'm still counting. A brief rundown, I'm manually adding the pages read of the DNF to total pages read as well as counting it for genre, decade and format. Otherwise any DNFs aren't going to be factored in any averages or total books read. Reviews will be linked as always. I'm almost caught up, so only one more review to post! Without further rambling, here's what I read in April...

πŸ’— It's hard to pick a favorite read this month. I reread my favorite Lisa Kleypas series The Hathaways (that also has my favorite Lisa Kleypas book Love in the Afternoon). As for new reads, it would definitely have to be the Donna Fletchers. My least favorite you would think would be Shanna since it was my DNF, however I think it would actually have to be Glacier. I was just so disappointed in how it was written when I at least was somewhat prepared for what I was getting into with Shanna.

How did your April reading go? I hope you had a good reading month. I'm excited for the Love in the Night readathon at the end of May. I also plan on starting my reread of Lisa Kleypas's Ravenel series. I'm going to try to space the 6 books out leading up to the release of book 7 in late July, but I could just end up bingeing them like I did the Hathaways. I'm also hoping I can binge as much of the Maiden Lane series that I can in the first week of May for the live show (see my review of Wicked Intentions for the more information). Otherwise, I'll just continue mood reading with my book club reads!

Bookishly Yours,

Stasi🍎
